A memorandum of agreement between M.A. Macleod, acting attorney or agent for Jardine, Matheson & Co. of Hong Kong, and Eugenio de Otadui, sole partner of E. de Otadui & Co., of the arrangements for avoiding the latter's bankruptcy, the company being indebted to Jardine Matheson and others, dated Manila, 1 May 1846. A bond (in Portuguese) of Charles Magniac to Joaquim de Souza for the sum of 12,000 patacas, dated Macao, 26 November 1822. A note added to the bond on 21 November 1823 records that the debt been settled. An English note on the back of the document describes it as a bond to the Bishop of Macao.
